SJP
Look at the photo then I’ll tell you how I came up with the title to this image.
SJP stands for Sarah Jessica Parker. I don’t think this shot looks like her. But at one point in the edit, the face did hold a resemblance to the famed actress.
Shit, also probably looked like the Dollie Llama […]
Syren
This was for an online story where the model was to be a Fire Marshall. I came up with the name Syren for the character.
We shot some with fire estinguishers and they were cool (or should I say, hot). I decided to take this one an ‘art it up‘.
The background was appropriately painted to look […]
Third Quatranian
An image inspired by quantum physics.
In the mid 90’s I met a guy who was studying quantum physics. I’d have lunch with him and every day he’d explain how time travel may be possible and all kinds of wild theories about the universe n stuff.
So anyway, this shot reminded me of quantum physics, with a […]
Wild Wild Tess
Jennifer after digging around in the studio’s dressing room.
Over the years I’ve collected numerous wigs, props, costumes, jewelry and accessories. I love it when a model goes crazy with it all.
It was one of the many times I don’t direct a model, but instead just let them come out with whatever and surprise me.
Spellcaster
Make a wish…
No Photoshop here. Aria actually blew tiny paper pieces into the air. And I have proof: two years later and I’m still finding little white specs in corners, under furniture and everywhere.
I really dig her eye makeup in this shot.
Resequenced
An artistic nude:
Not because I had to, but this was a redraw. It was one of those times I just sit back and play in Photoshop.
The first thing I did was drop the original photo to black and white and paint all the colors by hand (or rather, by mouse).
A few hundred layers later and […]
Pisces
Quite the balancing act, wouldn’t you say?
Obviously some Photoshop trickery here. However, the shot wasn’t that easy as Diana had to hang from a t-bar (just out of frame) to get the pose and to keep Wes’ effortless look.
Night Star
In reality, taken while sitting on a plywood floor.
The photo wasn’t even taken at night. I poured water on Madison and she sat on the studio’s wood floor. In Photoshop I added the rippled water in front and the night star ethereal background.
I don’t particularly like telling how a shot was done since you look […]
Caught
Your not so typical bikini shot.
Out comes Dianakate in a bikini. Wonderful, but we’re hours away from a beach. What to do…
The solution is obvious - pose against a tin wall. Well, it seemed obvious to me.
I’ve seen enough cheesecake bikini babe photos to last a lifetime. Just thought to try something different.
21st Century Fox
As requested by the models William and Carla, we decide to shoot a stylish, not so edgy, commercial look.
I am notoriously bad at taking a very specific style and duplicating it. Many times I’ve been shown a picture from a magazine or ad and asked, "Can we shoot one that looks like this?" For some […]
