Here’s what it looks like behind the scenes of a photoshoot. The set is for a series called Tit Talk. The host of the show is realdoll Taryn. The straight girl is doll Gretchen. Looking on is real model Sanny Aung.

The final series photos are at Realdoll Charlie Joanne complete with Sanny taking part. It is the first evidence of a project which will include 3D animation and movie segements.

The main reason for this shot was to show a typical basic lighting setup. The flash heads are noted in yellow. Hair light is a Photogenics StudioMaster 320. and the rest are Alien Bees 800s.

Here’s the settings for the shoot:

  • Camera:
Nikon D2X, ISO 100, f8, 1/160th, focal lengths between 24 and 55mm. Note that shutter speed doesn’t matter for flash, except it can’t be faster than your strobe sync. A shot at 1 second is the same as 1/500th (except for ambient leak, but keep the model lights low and there will be no problem).
  • Lights:
(W/S means Watt Seconds - the measure of how much power)
Main Light is set to 800 W/S with horizontal soft box 48″x24″.
Fill Light is set to 400 W/S with a vertical soft box 24″x48″.
Spot Light is 125 W/S with 20 degree honeycomb filter (prevents light from leaking to sides).
Hair Light is set to 200 W/S with white diffuser and 30 degree honeycomb filter.
Ambi Light is set at 100 W/S bare flash tube (not filtered) with barn doors pointing at corrugated lexan to reflect light strips.
  • Triggers:
PocketWizard Plus Trasmitter on the camera’s hot shoe.
PocketWizard Plus Receiver on the Main light.
All other lights fired via built-in slaves on the flash heads themselves.
